Citrus Television was formed by Caroline Norris, Giles Pilbrow, and  Dominic Brigstocke in 2009 while they were devising and producing Horrible Histories for CBBC.

In that time, Horrible Histories won six BAFTAs, the British Comedy Award for Best Sketch Show two years running, an RTS Award, a Golden Rose, a Rocky at Banff and numerous other awards. In 2014 it was named Best Non-Fiction Children's Programme of the Past 50 years at the International Prix Jeunesse.
